Meet Mary Raby
I came to this church out of curiosity. A friend described this church as a small, very diverse church. It also had a reputation of standing up for the homeless even when the “powers that be” were threatening it. The first Sunday I came, I meet a very dear old friend for whom I had such great respect. It convinced me. If she was a member here and these people really did stand up for their principles; I was willing to become part of this Christian family. It has been a great adventure in my life. I have learned a lot about patience and setting boundaries. These two things have helped us and our church to accomplish much good for our community while keeping our eye on God.
I am a retired teacher and an amateur singer. I have 5 beautiful grandchildren ranging in age from 14 years to 1 year of age. I volunteer to teach music for my second graders class in Cupertino. I love to garden, cook and crochet. I am learning web site design. My first big project is this church website.
I have been the moderator of the church for almost 4 years and I sing in the choir. I work with the meal program at the church and do calling and caring activities. This is a place where people can achieve amazing transformations. It is a joy to watch it happen
