Workforce Supportive Housing Project

Downtown Streets Team

The Workforce Supportive Housing Project is a joint project between First Christian Church and Downtown Streets Team (DST). DST is an award winning nonprofit which takes people off the streets and puts them to work. Through group support and mentoring, homeless individuals are able to hold down jobs and work towards getting off the streets permanently. FCC and DST have worked together to create a homelike living environment for 9 successfully working individuals as they continue working, increasing their employment skills, and search for permanent housing. Individuals are able to stay for up to one year.

This Project is housed in the educational wing of FCC. The Peery Foundation, HomeAid Northern California and Housing Industry Foundation plus private donors helped make this dream a reality.
