Donate/Volunteer

We are a small band of people who support and empower ministries beyond ourselves. We are grateful for the many partners who volunteer and work with us to sustain our outreach services. In the current economy we are seeing more need than ever before and are feeling the stretch to address those needs.

There are three ways you can help:

Get Involved

Most of us give, not to feel better about ourselves, but because we are changed by the process of personal involvement. We understand what it means to create the Kingdom of God here and now when we are directly connected to places that need healing in our world. Call the church office at 408-294-2944 and indicate which ministry you are interested in.

Donate Money 

There are many needs that only money can meet. Monetary donations give us the flexibility to address ongoing and unexpected needs. To make a monetary donation, checks can be made out to First Christian Church (FCC). Please designate on the check that it is for homeless services. Checks can be mailed to FCC, 80 South Fifth Street, San Jose, CA 95112.

Donate Building Maintenance Skills

Do you have electrical or building skills or are you a Jack or Jill of all trades?  Our building infrastructure needs care and maintenance, from hinges off doors, to window replacement.  If you enjoy general repairing, we have  opportunities for you!  Please contact our church office at 408-294-2944.

Donate Supplies

F.C.C. provides meals to the homeless in our community. Food donations and kitchen supplies are needed. Please consider donating any of the following:

  • Kitchen supplies –  good quality knives, serving utensils, large cooking pots/pans, large spaghetti pot w/ strainer, kitchen towels, plastic cutting boards, roll away service cart
  • disposable products – 8" plates, napkins, cups, 12 oz. bowls, plastic utensils, coffee stirrers (environmentally friendly preferred) , 42 gallon plastic garbage bags, plastic gloves
  • meat (beef, chicken, turkey, ham)
  • cheese
  • coffee
  • sugar
  • coffee creamer
  • lemonade, kool aid etc.
  • milk, fresh and canned
  • olive and canola oils
  • salad dressing
  • juice
  • mayonnaise
  • chicken and beef broth
  • seasonings/spices
  • hand sanitizer
